This stunning limited edition piece is 25x38 with an edition size of 500. The technique that is used to create “A Jazzy Band” is Carl's signature style of collage assembled completely of magazine paper. Initially inspired by Romare Bearden and Jacob Lawrence, Carl developed a truly unique style by making the collage tighter, giving more intricate detail. The finished product to many looks like an oil painting, but a closer look will reveal the different shapes of paper used to form a face, an instrument, a hand, etc. Carl has been traveling the nation promoting this new style and has gained lots of recognition for his craft. “A Jazzy Band” is also distributed by Ethnic Expressions, a major African-American fine art distributor out of Atlanta , GA.
